Inscrire un film
Le BIWFF accorde une attention particulière aux films originaux dans lesquels les réalisatrices portent un regard critique et affûté sur la société, les discriminations et l’actualité politique. Ces œuvres reflètent l’émancipation et la capacité d’action des femmes et des populations minorisées.
Le festival valorise également les films de genre dans des catégories où les réalisatrices sont encore sous-représentées (science-fiction, fantastique, thriller, etc.).
PROGRAMMATION
Le programme du BIWFF comprend une quinzaine de projections, en présence de la plupart des réalisatrices des longs métrages sélectionnés, suivies d’échanges avec le public.
CATÉGORIES DE SOUMISSION
Les films peuvent être soumis au BIWFF 2026 dans les catégories suivantes :
1. COMPÉTITION INTERNATIONALE
- Longs métrages de fiction et documentaires réalisés par des réalisatrices belges et internationales.
- Les films en compétition sont projetés sans frais de droits de diffusion.
2. COMPÉTITION NATIONALE: “Graines de cinéastes”
Courts métrages de fiction et documentaires réalisés par des réalisatrices émergentes belges et/ou résidant en Belgique francophone. Nous acceptons :
- Les premiers ou deuxièmes films produits par une société de production
- Les premiers, deuxièmes ou troisièmes films produits de manière indépendante
Tous les genres sont acceptés.
The BIWFF pays particular attention to original films in which female directors have a critical and sharp look at society, discrimination and current political events, reflecting the empowerment and agency of women and minority populations.
The festival also aims to promote genre films in categories where female directors are still under-represented (science fiction, fantasy, thriller, etc.).
PROGRAMME
The BIWFF programme includes around fifteen screenings, attended by most of the directors of the selected feature films, followed by a discussion with the audience.
CATEGORIES
Films can be submitted to the BIWFF 2026 in the following categories:
1. INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
- Feature-length fiction and documentary films made by Belgian and international female directors
- Films entered in the competition will be screened free of broadcasting rights.
2. NATIONAL COMPETITION “Graines de cinéastes” (Seeds of Filmmakers):
Fiction and documentary short films made by emerging female filmmakers who are Belgian and/or residents of French-speaking Belgium.
- Only first or second films produced by a production company and first, second or third films produced independently will be accepted.
All genres are accepted.
